9:52pm – What a busy afternoon and evening but it’s an exciting time of the year as we learn all the permutations of the various leagues. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and look forward to bringing you all the excitement of the finals.

9:47pm – GOLD COAST PREMIER LEAGUE

Coomera 2-0 Palm Beach

Murwillumbah 3-1 Mudgeerba

Surfers Paradise 4-2 Burleigh

Broadbeach 5-2 Magic

The premiers are Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise have finished second. Magic United are third with Murwillumbah fourth.

Mudgeeraba are automatically relegated with Burleigh Heads to play a two-legged playoff against Division 1 runner-up Pacific Pines to determine who’ll be in the 2017 version of the Premier League. Gold Coast Knights have been promoted as the Division 1 winners.

9:43pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 4

Logan City Kings 2 v Springfield 2

Kangaroo Point Rovers 0 v North Brisbane 0

Caboolture 11 v Logan Village 0

Bethania 5 v Samford 5

So without kicking a ball, St George Willawong are promoted and so too are Caboolture after their win. Samford will finish third while Bethania will run fourth.

There’s still a round to go next weekend in which the champions will be determined.

9:39pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Bardon Latrobe 0 v Virginia 5

AC Carina 2 v Westside 4

Clairvaux 3 v Narangba 1

Tarragindi 2 v Ridge Hills 2

Newmarket 1 v Toowong 3

So it all came down to the final day with Virginia claiming the championship and Toowong also earning promotion. Tarragindi finished third and AC Carina’s loss saw them come up short for the fourth finals spot, that falling to Jimboomba instead.

Mooroondu and Ridge Hills drop to Capital 4.

9:36pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 2

Oxley 0 v Acacia Ridge 4

Ipswich City v Pine Hills

The Gap 4 v Slacks Creek 0

The Gap wrapped up the championship a fortnight ago and will be promoted. Joining them will be Acacia Ridge (provided they don’t lose by 34 goals to Pine Hills in a catch-up match next weekend)! Those two will also play in the semis. The elimination semi will be between Brisbane Force and Annerley.

Slacks Creek and Redcliffe PCYC have been relegated.

9:30pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

Mt Gravatt 6 v Pine Rivers 0

Moggill 1 v North Star 2

Bayside United v Brisbane Knights

Taringa 1 v Souths 3

Grange Thistle v Southside Eagles – postponed

Souths finish as champions and will be promoted to the Brisbane Premier League. North Star move into 2nd spot for the time being pending the reschedule of the Thistle v Southside Eagles match.

Grange Thistle need to win to finish 2nd and be promoted. Southside Eagles need to win by seven goals to earn second spot.

9:27pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

North Pine 3 v Lions 2

Logan Lightning 0 v Mitchelton 5

Ipswich Knights 0 v Peninsula 4

Rochedale 0 v Holland Park 1

Easts 0 v Albany Creek

The semi match-ups in a fortnight will be:

Lions v Mitchelton – both teams with the double chance

Holland Park v Peninsula – loser is knocked out

North Pine and UQFC are relegated to Capital 1

9:25pm – NPL

Sunshine Coast Fire 2 v Gold Coast City 5

Brisbane Strikers 1 v Brisbane City 1

Moreton Bay 1 v Northern Fury 1

FNQ Heat 0 v SWQ Thunder 2

So the wash-up is that next week’s semi-final match-ups will be:

Brisbane Strikers v Redlands/Olympic

Gold Coast City v FNQ Heat

If Olympic can beat Western Pride by six goals in their match tomorrow night, they’ll be in the finals at the expense of Redlands.

9:20pm – It’s been a busy night, let’s recap all the results and bring you up to speed with all the ramifications.

9:15pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 4

Also congratulations to Caboolture and St George Willawong who will be promoted to Capital 3 after the Bethania and Samford result went their way in a  5-5 goal fest.

9:12pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

Congratulations to Souths, back in the Premier League in 2017 after a 3-1 win against Taringa to seal the championship.

North Star will have to wait to see if they’ll be promoted, even after defeating Moggill by 6-1

8:45pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

It’s looking like Souths will be crowned champions, leading Taringa 3-0 with under 10 minutes to go.

8:43pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Holland Park are through to the finals with a 1-0 win over Rochedale who have ultimately missed out on the top four.

So the finishing order is:

1 Lions

2 Mitchelton

3 Holland Park

4 Peninsula

8:40pm – NPL

FNQ Heat have given up a potential home semi after going down 2-0 at home to SWQ Thunder who defeated the Heat both home and away this season.

8:21pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 2

Slacks Creek have failed in their bid to avoid relegation. They’ll join Redcliffe PCYC in Capital 3 next year after a 4-0 loss to The Gap.

8:18pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

Mt Gravatt have staved off relegation after defeating Pine Rivers 6-0.

North Star are 4-1 up against Moggill.

8:16pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Toowong will join Virginia in next year’s Capital 2 after a 3-1 win over Newmarket.

Tarragindi have fallen just short in a 2-2 draw against Ridge Hills meaning they finish 3rd on the ladder.

8:12pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Mitchelton have sealed second spot with a 5-0 win over Logan Lightning.

Peninsula will be playing finals football after a 4-0 win against Ipswich Knights.

Holland Park lead Rochedale 1-0 with just over twenty minutes to play. The Peninsula result means that Holland Park only need a draw to make the finals but Rochedale need the full three points.

Easts and Albany Creek are 0-0 after 52 minutes.

8:09pm – NPL

Brisbane City’s season is over after a 1-1 draw against the Brisbane Strikers. Redlands remain in 4th spot on the ladder with Olympic the only team left to threaten them for a place in the finals.

Moreton Bay and Northern Fury have played out a 1-1 draw.

Just under ten minutes for FNQ Heat to get a win over SWQ Thunder for 2nd spot but they trail 1-0.

7:45pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

Getting a score through from Jack Speare Park with Souths leading Taringa 2-0.

Getting reports that North Star are 1-0 up over Moggill.

With the Grange Thistle v Southside Eagles game being washed out, we’re still going to have to be patient to work out the final make up of the top four.

7:43pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Barring major catastrophe, Peninsula will be playing finals, now with a 4-0 lead over Ipswich Knights with just over twenty to play.

7:40pm – NPL

An exciting finish set up with Brisbane City converting from the penalty spot to level with Brisbane Strikers at 1-1.

7:37pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Holland Park are in the box seat for a finals spot leading Rochedale 1-0. A second half comeback required for the Rovers if they’re to play in the post-season.

Even more so now with Peninsula out to a 3-0 lead over Ipswich Knights on 62 minutes.

After 34 minutes, it’s 0-0 between Easts and Albany Creek.

7:35pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Toowong head out to a 3-1 advantage over Newmarket. A little over 15 minutes to hold on to claim promotion.

7:34pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Mitchelton will play Lions in the opening week of the finals, leading 5-0 with 15 minutes to play against Logan Lightning with the Mustangs set to claim 2nd spot.

7:32pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Ridge Hills have scored again against Tarragindi to level at 2-2 but Toowong still lead 2-1 over Newmarket from last reports.

7:30pm – NPL

A blow to Brisbane City’s finals hopes with the Brisbane Strikers claiming a 1-0 lead on Trent Clulow scoring on 68 minutes.

7:27pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

38 minutes in and Holland Park open the scoring against Rochedale. It’s Holland Park 1 v Rochedale 0.

7:22pm – NPL

SWQ Thunder have a 1-0 lead over FNQ Heat meaning that if things remain that way, Heat would finish third on the ladder and have to travel to Gold Coast City in the first week of the finals.

Still 0-0 between Brisbane Strikers and Brisbane City after 64 minutes. That would mean that City would miss out on the finals if things remain that way.

Moreton Bay have pulled back a goal to equalise with Northern Fury. 1-1 after 64 minutes.

7:20pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

With half an hour remaining, Mt Gravatt look like they’ll remain in Capital 1 with a 4-0 lead over Pine Rivers.

7:18pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

A nervy ending coming up for Toowong as they concede against Newmarket but still lead 2-1.

7:14pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 2

The Gap lead Slacks Creek 1-0 in the 50th minute. Slacks need to win to avoid relegation.

7:12pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Peninsula are looking good for a finals spot with a 2-0 lead at halftime against Ipswich Knights.

Mitchelton have second spot all wrapped up, now leading Logan Lightning 4-0 after 55 minutes.

7:08pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

AC Carina have failed in their quest for a finals spot after going down 4-2 to Westside. That means Jimboomba finish fourth.

In the promotion race, Tarragindi are in the lead for the first time, 2-1 over Ridge Hills but Toowong have extended their advantage over Newmarket to 2-0 after 55 minutes. As things stand, Toowong would be promoted.

7:06pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Well we weren’t going to watch this one too closely as it didn’t have any ramifications but for the second week in a row, the champions have fallen to a bottom two side with North Pine upsetting Lions 3-2.

6:51pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Mitchelton look like they have second place wrapped up taking a 3-0 lead into halftime against Logan Lightning.

In the 33rd minute, Peninsula have scored for a 1-0 lead over Ipswich Knights.

The match of the most significance between Holland Park and Rochedale has started. No matter what happens with Peninsula’s match, a draw would be sufficient for Holland Park to clinch a top four spot but for Rochedale, a win is necessary to ensure that destiny remains in their own hands.

And a shock with North Pine leading Lions 3-2 after 86 minutes

6:49pm – NPL

FNQ Heat’s quest for second spot has hit a speed bump after Tom Fanning opens the scoring for SWQ Thunder and a 1-0 lead.

0-0 at halftime between Brisbane Strikers and Brisbane City and Northern Fury have a 1-0 lead against Moreton Bay.

6:42pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Tarragindi have got it back on level terms, 1-1 with Ridge Hills but with Toowong leading 1-0 against Newmarket, they’re still behind in the promotion quest

6:39pm – NPL

Still 0-0 between Brisbane Strikers and Brisbane City in the lead-up to halftime with City needing to win to keep final four hopes alive.

Perhaps a shock brewing at Wolter Park with Northern Fury leading Moreton Bay 1-0 after 41 minutes. Of course the Fury are without a win so far in 2016.

FNQ Heat and SWQ Thunder has just kicked off with the Heat needing a win to claim 2nd spot and a home final.

6:37pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

News coming through that the virtual playoff between Grange Thistle and Southside Eagles has been postponed due to a deluge at Lanham Park. That will throw the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of deciding the champions.

6:34pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

A couple of shocks with Westside up 4-2 over AC Carina. A reminder that AC Carina need a draw to claim a finals spot at the expense of Jimboomba.

Tarragindi have a must-win game to stay in the promotion race but currently trail bottom-place Ridge Hills 1-0. No update yet from the earlier score with Toowong leading Newmarket 1-0.

6:32pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Mitchelton have doubled their advantage and lead Logan Lightning 2-0 after 28 minutes.

Still 2-0 for Lions over North Pine after 68 minutes and 0-0 between Ipswich Knights and Peninsula after 15 minutes.

6:22pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Looking good for Toowong early doors with a 1-0 lead over Newmarket 15 minutes in.

6:17pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Mitchelton have found an early goal via Josh McVey for a 1-0 lead over Logan Lightning

6:15pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

Mt Gravatt have struck on 8 minutes for a 1-0 lead over Pine Rivers.

6:14pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 2

It’s relegation battles that feature heavily in the next series of matches to kick off.

The victor of Pine Hills and Ipswich City will ensure they don’t make the drop while Slacks Creek face a tough task in their away trip to the champions, The Gap. Slacks have a knack of pulling off big results when it matters but if they lose, it is certain relegation.

6:11pm – BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Mitchelton is underway in their game against Logan Lightning. A win for the Mustangs will guarantee second spot on the ladder and a double chance in the finals. After 7 minutes, it’s 0-0.

About to get underway in Ipswich with the Ipswich Knights hosting Peninsula. The equation is pretty straight forward for Peninsla. Win and they’re through to post-season action. Lose or draw and it’s time to start preparations for 2017.

In the early game between first and last, Lions lead North Pine 2-0 at halftime.

———————–

6:07pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

Mt Gravatt v Pine Rivers is about to get underway. After Centenary’s loss to Wolves last night, Mt Gravatt can still lose by no more than one goal to escape relegation to Capital 2. Given Pine Rivers recent form, winless since mid-may, the Hawks seem set to stay up but stranger things have happened.

————————

6:05pm – NPL

Two crucial matches about to commence. While the Brisbane Strikers have already clinched the premiership, it’s in Brisbane City’s own hands to determine whether they will clinch the fourth finals spot.

With Redlands win last night, nothing less than victory for City will suffice to ensure they remain in the finals hunt.

While in Cairns, FNQ Heat will need to turn around the loss earlier in the season to SWQ Thunder. After Gold Coast City defeated the Sunshine Coast Fire 5-2, the Heat will need the full three points to ensure second spot and a home semi.

—————————

6:03pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Latest update at halftime is: Westside 2 v AC Carina 2. A draw is good enough for AC Carina to get the 4th finals berth but leaving it a bit fine at the moment.

—————————–

5:20pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Plenty of action in the opening minutes in AC Carina’s quest to make the semis as they lead Westside by 2-1 after around 20 minutes.

——————————

5:02pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 2

Congratulations to Acacia Ridge who look like they have achieved promotion for the third consecutive year after a comfortable 4-0 win over Oxley United.

An extremely unlikely loss by 34 goals to Pine Hills next week in a catch-up match would be the only way to prevent a further climb up the Football Brisbane hierarchy.

——————————

4:58pm – GOLD COAST PREMIER LEAGUE

The top four sides have already been decided. Broadbeach are premiers, Murwillumbah will finish fourth. What is still up in the air is second spot with Magic United and Surfers Paradise both locked on 37 points, Surfers well in command in terms of goal difference.

Surfers Paradise look to have the easier match taking on second-last Burleigh Heads while Magic have Broadbeach.

Live updates during matches are a little hard to come by on the coast but we’ll bring you full-time scores and let you know the final table make-up.

4:57pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

IMG_2443

Virginia in action earlier this year

Congratulations to Virginia United who are the 2016 champions and have earned promotion to Capital 2 after a 5-0 defeat of Bardon Latrobe.

The second promotion spot will be fought between Toowong and Tarragindi who play Newmarket and Ridge Hills respectively at 6pm. In order for Toowong to finish 2nd, a win would guarantee it, a draw would be sufficient if Tarragindi lose or draw while a loss would also be OK if Tarragindi lost or drew.

For Tarragindi, they must win and hope that Toowong can’t claim the full three points.

There’s also another match about to kick off that will decide 4th spot. AC Carina need at least a draw against Westside to displace Jimboomba from a place in the finals series.

———————————–

4:17pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Unless something drastic happens, Virginia will be crowned the 2016 champions in around half an hour’s time after skipping out to a 4-0 lead over Bardon Latrobe.

————————————

4:14pm – NPL

Just going back to the NPL for a moment, Gold Coast City’s Ben Litfin’s brace today moves him to the outright lead with 19 goals in the Golden Boot race. Brisbane Strikers’s Rhys Meredith and FNQ Heat’s Jamie Carroll will need to be in goal-scoring modes tonight with 17 and 15 goals respectively if they’re to overtake Litfin.

————————————

3:59pm – BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

Virginia are on track to claim the championship as they have a 3-0 lead over Bardon Latrobe at halftime.

The live ladder in the championship and promotion race as it stands is:

1 Virginia 54 pts +42

2 Toowong 50 pts +41

3 Tarragindi 49 pts +19

—————————————

3:55pm – NPL

Already one match completed in the NPL where Gold Coast City have defeated Sunshine Coast Fire 5-2.

Goals to City through Ben Litfin with a brace, Fraser Eller, Nik Mirkovic and Abdul Kone. Fire via Alex Warrilow and Paul Mikula.

Gold Coast City will meet FNQ Heat in the semis, the venue is up in the air though. Gold Coast City have moved into 2nd for the time being, the Heat will need a win tonight against the SWQ Thunder to overtake City again and claim a home final.

We’ll have more NPL for you later including that game and Brisbane City’s bid for a berth in their match against the Brisbane Strikers.
