Total Compression BPL Player of the Month – Nathan Shepherd (Lions FC) – May 2016

Congratulations to Lions FC’s Nathan Shepherd who has been named the Total Compression Brisbane Premier League Player of the Month for May 2016. The panel was impressed with Shepherd’s consistency through the season for the league leaders.

A holiday last year to Australia opened the eyes of the Scottish native to the possibilities of making the trek down under to take the next step in his footballing journey.

How he came to link up with Lions FC came down to connections coach Warren Moon made during his playing stint in Scotland, including a recommendation from former Brisbane Strikers team mate Stuart MacLaren, now based in that country.

Most recently at East Stirlingshire for three and a half years prior to the move, Shepherd remarked that the tight-bond and camaraderie of the Lions squad has enabled him to make the adjustment to his new surrounds an easier one.

Adaptable as both a midfielder and defender, Shepherd has had to use those varying skills with his side’s recent injury woes. Starting off the season in a more attacking midfield role, he has had to adjust his play to a defensive one to cover the loss of players including fellow import Jack Lewis.

From everyone at QSN and Total Compression, congratulations Nathan on your award.
