Thanks to Gorilla Sports, let’s round out another footballing weekend and catch you up on what’s taken place around the grounds.

NPL

Brisbane Roar have put a dent in Redlands premiership aspirations claiming a 3-1 win. A double to Nick D’Agostino and a further goal to Jayden Prasad against his former team made up the Roar’s tally while Graham Fyfe scored for Redlands.

A flurry of goals in the first half between Brisbane City and SWQ Thunder. Nykodah Smith opened for the Thunder before Scot Coulson replied for City. In a quick period, Mitch Hore made it 2-1 City directly from a corner with a Majok Piok penalty evening things up again. Nick Buckley then collected a quick double for a Brisbane City 4-2 lead and with a scoreless second half, that’s how things remained.

WNPL

Souths continue to remain in touch with league leaders The Gap after a 2-1 defeat of Sunshine Coast Fire.

Western Pride 4 v Gold Coast City 1

Another big score as Olympic defeated UQFC 12-0.

BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

If there was any doubt before, it’s well and truly Lions premiership to lose now. A 4-0 win over Mitchelton sees them go six points clear on top with a game in hand. Sekou Jomanday, Tim Morgan and Michael Butters amongst those to cause the damage.
