Frenchville got off to the best of starts with captain Jesse Thompson scoring in the fifth minute. Jamie Carroll equalised for the FNQ Heat on 18 minutes before he was up-ended in the penalty box earning his side a penalty that Jamie Gosling converted for the Heat to take a 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

Carroll scored his second five minutes into the second half and Ari Isman made it 4-1 with 20 minutes to play. A late hope for Frenchville when Michael Cay converted a penalty to make it 4-2 but the FNQ Heat held on and are through to the final 32 for the third year in a row.

Jared Austin’s 78th minute effort was enough for Peninsula Power to get the three points in a 1-0 win over Rochedale

A goalfest between Capalaba and Holland Park. Andy McAskill set the tone scoring for the Hawks in the first minute. Ahamad Azzawi equalised for the Bulldogs midway through the first half. Dan Smith made it 2-1 Holland Park from the penalty spot before Capalaba equalised again through Oliver Smith. McAskill and Manabu Ishimoto scored for Holland Park to make it 4-2. Azzawi scored again for Capalaba at 4-3. Ishimoto restored the two-goal advantage for 5-3. Oliver Smith with a brace for Capalaba to bring it back to 5-4 before Ishimoto’s hat-trick on fulltime sealed a Holland Park 6-4 win (and we need a breath!)

Albany Creek were convincing 4-1 winners over North Pine while Easts sealed a 2-0 victory against Ipswich Knights.
