Terry Kirkham continues to steer Olympic in the right direction after they toppled league leaders FNQ Heat 5-4 in Cairns this afternoon. Olympic got out to a two-goal lead after 13 minutes with goals to Danny Byrne and Ramone Close. The Heat were able to take a 3-2 advantage to the break through a double to Jamie Carroll and a goal to Crios O’Hare. Close turned villian when he was sent off shortly after half time but despite having ten men, Olympic scored the next two goals through Matt Heath and Kristen Waters to take the lead again. Ari Isman equalised in the 82nd minute for 4-4 but a late free kick to Olympic sealed the match in another high scoring thriller between these two clubs.

A goal in the first half to Trent Clulow and Fraser Marsh in the second half gave the Brisbane Strikers a 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar.

Moreton Bay had a 1-0 lead at halftime but Brisbane City levelled five minutes into the second half and that’s how it ended, 1-1 between the Jets and City at Wolter Park.

Despite it being level at 0-0 at halftime, the Northern Fury’s woes continue after going down to the SWQ Thunder 3-1, making it 12 losses in a row.

Easts and Mitchelton fought out a 1-1 draw. Easts ending the match with ten men.

Just to prove again that ladder positions don’t count when it’s a local derby, North Pine and Peninsula shared the points in a scoreless draw.

Rochedale’s claims for a finals berth remain after a 3-0 win against Capalaba. Greg Cheshire scored a double while Jarryd Gore scored the other. Match report – http://bit.ly/27WqtRW
