Olympic FC have come away 11-0 convincing winners over Redlands United in their Womens National Premier League match at the Cleveland Showgrounds on Friday night.

The visitors stamped their authority from the off creating a spell of early chances which the Redlands defence were up to task.

It didn’t take Olympic long to break the seal though with a lovely threaded through ball which found its way to Kirsten Jamieson who coolly rounded the keeper before firing her shot into the upright but made no mistake from the rebound to give the visitors the early incentive.

Redlands were making mistakes all across the park and it didn’t take Olympic long to punish them as the ball was shifted over to the right wing where a ball was laid off to Lorena Maggio who thumped home for Olympic’s second.

Not long after, their third came as Allira Toby opened fire from twenty yards into the top right corner to open up a three goal cushion midway through the half.

Olympic had a series of chances in the middle stages of the opening stanza but it took until the 30th minute to find the fourth as Toby burst down the left, took an optimistic shot that took a deflection and looped up over Megan Byriel in the Redlands net.

Redlands fate got worse as a great ball was whipped into Kirsten Jamieson who looked to be a few yards offside but the flag stayed down and she fired home for the visitors fifth as both sides went into oranges.

In the second half Olympic didn’t rest up and soon picked up where they left off as they burst down the left hand side ball was pulled back for Jamieson who added her third for the night and not long later she bagged another tapping in a pull back for Olympic’s seventh.

Kirsten Jamieson wrapped up the scoring and another stellar performance in the 83rd minute as a superb cross was met by a glorious header which cannoned off the post into the back of the net to round out an 11-0 victory.

The win ensures Olympic remain in third place on the table behind The Gap and Souths.

PLAYER OF MATCH – Kirsten Jamieson was everywhere on the park and scored six goals herself as well as being involved in a number of others.
