Congratulations to Capalaba Bulldogs player Ahamad Azzawi who has been named the Total Compression Brisbane Premier League Player of the Month for April 2016.
Azzawi has set the tongues wagging across the league, including from rival coaches, since making his debut for Capalaba and has accumulated ten goals in nine league matches for the Bulldogs and a further three from three in the FFA Cup.
Most recently with experience in Japan at high school and university level, Azzawi explained how the move to Brisbane came about and how he has taken to the local football scene.
“Taro (Urabe- former Rochedale Rovers player) contacted me and said that Capalaba is a good team and that’s how I came to play at Capalaba. I’m really enjoying playing in Brisbane. It is very physical but it’s good for my development”
With a mixed background after being born in Japan but claiming Iraq as his home, his ambition is to one day turn out for that country’s national squad.
“If I keep doing the right thing, I can make the chance to hopefully play in Iraq as a professional.”
Not a noted goalscorer prior to coming here he acknowledged those around him that have contributed to his prolific goal scoring form.
“My team mates are helping me score goals. They have been very good in setting me up.”
Congratulations from everyone at QSN and Total Compression for your award Ahamad.
