Brisbane Capital Leagues Wrap – Catchup round

The end of another entertaining month up and down the divisions and it was rounded off with a goal packed catch up weekend, here is how it unfolded.

CAPITAL ONE

Southside Eagles grabbed another vital three points, this time accounting for Brisbane Knights 1-0. A lone goal from Cameron Bretag in the 61st minute was enough to ensure the points went back to Bulimba.

Moggill inflicted Taringa’s third successive defeat in a row 2-0 at the Bellbowrie Sports Ground. Sam Chesterfield opened the scoring in the 31st minute for the hosts and the win was rounded out by Kisuke Uga via the penalty spot in the 88th as Moggill shift up to eighth.

Grange Thistle had the magic touch in their home clash with Pine Rivers coming away 4-2 winners in an entertaining stand off. Pine Rivers grabbed an early lead but a brace from Stuart Somerville and a goal from Ryan Adamson put the hosts 3-1 up at the break. In the second stanza Adamson doubled his tally to open up a three goal cushion but Rivers could only manage a late consolation from the penalty as Grange move to fifth still with a game in hand.

North Star played out a goal-fest against Centenary Stormers and came away 5-3 winners to move into second place on the ladder. Brad Thompson scored a hat-trick while Jordan Maxwell chimed in with a double for the visitors. Savior Jansuk, Kelly Nystrom and an own goal made up the Stormers tally.

CAPITAL TWO

The Gap stay top after catch up weekend after they dominated Brisbane Force 4-0 at Walton Bridge Reserve.

Acacia Ridge claimed yet another win as they romped to a 3-1 away success at New Farm United on Saturday afternoon to remain second to The Gap on goal difference.

CAPITAL THREE

Ridge Hills and Bardon Latrobe played out a thriller at Stanley Day Park as neither team could be separated in a 3-3 draw. The result though means that neither side progresses up the table and both remain in the relegation zone.

CAPITAL FOUR

Bethania Rams let loose on Brighton Bulldogs running out commanding winners 10-0 to remain top.

Samford Rangers are up to second after a convincing thrashing of Logan City Kings 13-0 at the Parklands.

St George Willawong had the edge on their away trip to Logan Metro as they went away 2-1 winners.

Caboolture were held to a 2-2 draw on the their trip South as Springfield United did enough to earn a share of the spoils. The early season favourites slipping to fifth on the ladder.

Deception Bay made no mistake on their visit to Logan Village churning out a 3-1 away win.

North Brisbane condemned Greenbank to yet another defeat as the Prentice Park side came away 4-1 victors.

Kangaroo Point Rovers had the bye.
