NPL

SWQ Thunder double the number of wins they have recorded with a penalty with less than five minutes remaining see them win 2-1 over Redlands.

The Grand Final re-match didn’t disappoint with plenty of intensity and passion between Moreton Bay and Brisbane Strikers. Strikers were up 2-0 at the break through Rhys Meredith and an own goal conceded by the Jets. Moreton Bay pulled one back through Scott Stewart but Shaun Carlos sealed a 3-1 win shortly after the hour mark.

FNQ Heat and Gold Coast City shared the spoils in Cairns in a 1-1 draw. Jarrod Kyle’s 68th minute effort for City was quickly cancelled out by the Heat’s Jamie Carroll.

A 28th minute goal to Motoki Kakehi was enough to see Brisbane City claim a 1-0 win against Sunshine Coast Fire.

Western Pride took a 1-0 lead into the break and continued on in the second half ending up 3-1 winners to record their first win of the season while Fury slump to four losses from four.

Rochedale inflicted Logan Lightning’s first defeat of the season in the M1 derby.
