Gorilla Sports Challenge Debut

There’s another entrant to the pre-season competition race with the newly announced Gorilla Sports Challenge to kick off on Friday night.

The tournament features Brisbane Capital Leagues clubs North Star, Narangba, Grange Thistle and Caboolture who will each field two teams. Other Capital Leagues clubs that will be involved are Centenary Stormers, Park Ridge, Pine Rivers and Redcliffe PCYC.

Joining them will be Sunshine Coast Premier League clubs Beerwah Glasshouse, Noosa Lions and the Gold Coast Premier League’s Mudgeeraba. The Brisbane Strikers NPL Youth side will make up the compliment of the 16-team competition.

Gorilla Challenge

The competition will be played across three venues with Narangba, North Star and Park Ridge playing hosts for the four week competition. Double-header Plate and Grand Finals will occur on Saturday 13 February.

It will also be lucrative for the clubs involved with $8000 in cash and prizes on offer.

Narangba FC President Allan Takken offered his thanks to the other hosting clubs and to the major sponsor, “The challenge would not have gone ahead without the support of Gorilla Sports. With the other clubs who have expressed their interest in hosting the competition, they have helped facilitate a quality pre-season tournament for Capital and Premier League teams in south-east Queensland.”
