Melbourne City are the benchmark of the competition with a perfect winning record from nine matches played. They currently lead the league by eight points and boasting a stack of Matildas, there’ll be plenty of firepower on show.

The Roar will be buoyed though after accounting for third-placed Sydney FC last round in a 3-0 scoreline. That will provide plenty of confidence in attempting to be the first team to knock City off their perch this season.

No better way to spend a public holiday than with a dip at the beach in the morning, some lunch oceanside and then a short walk to catch the action at Nikiforides Family Park for a 2:30pm kickoff.

Broadbeach will host a further W-League fixture on 10 January when the Roar take on Melbourne Victory.
