Saturday scoreboard – 12 September 2015

The business end of the season has well and truly arrived, here’s the results from matches played this afternoon and into the evening.

NPL QUEENSLAND WOMENS

Deeanna Thompson opened the scoring for Palm Beach in the Grand Final on the 24th minute before a reply from The Gap’s Leah Curtis shortly after half an hour, the teams going into halftime at 1-1.

Victoria Stephenson scored what would turn out to be the winner in the 65th minute and The Gap claimed the double, both Premiers and Grand Final winners in a 2-1 win at Corporate Travel Management Stadium.

SUNSHINE COAST PREMIER LEAGUE

Congratulations to Kawana who battled through the Grand Final with ten men for the majority of the match. Locked at 2-2 with Woombye at halftime, Kawana came away 5-3 winners with Jeremy Stewart named man of the match.

BRISBANE WOMENS PREMIER LEAGUE

Annerley have knocked off the Premiers, Logan Lightning in the Grand Final. The visitors coming away 3-1 winners at Cornubia Park to claim the trophy.

BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

They’ve done it again! Peninsula are through to another Grand Final with Trent McEvoy scoring the winner six minutes into injury time for a 2-1 win against Easts.

BRISBANE CAPITAL 1

North Pine have set up a rematch with Holland Park Hawks in the Grand Final after defeating North Star 3-2

BRISBANE CAPITAL 2

On Friday night, Western Spirit claimed a Grand Final berth after defeating Centenary away from home 2-1. Spirit will take on Souths in the Grand Final.

BRISBANE CAPITAL 3

The Premiers, Acacia Ridge are out of the finals after being defeated by Toowong 2-1. Next week’s Grand Final will be New Farm v Toowong

BRISBANE CAPITAL 4

Bardon Latrobe will get another chance at revenge on Mooroondu after defeating Greenbank in the Preliminary Final 5-2.

GOLD COAST PREMIER LEAGUE

Magic United’s opponent in next week’s Grand Final will be Broadbeach who have defeated Surfers Paradise in a penalty shootout after the score was locked at 2-2 after extra time.

CENTRAL QUEENSLAND PREMIER LEAGUE

Clinton defeated Capricorn Coast to set up a Grand Final next week against arch-rivals Frenchville.
