Saturday scoreboard – 15 August 2015

NPL QUEENSLAND

FNQ Heat are out of the finals race while Redlands are on the verge of claiming a place in the post season after a 2-0 win. Goals in either half to Igor Sao Jose and a penalty conversion by Graham Fyfe provided the three points gained.

No brotherly favours in the Premiership race as Palm Beach defeated Moreton Bay 2-1. The Sharks chances of back-to-back titles still alive with goals from Roman Hofman and Matt Jones while Charles Mendy scored for the visitors.

Brisbane Strikers are back at the top of the league after a 2-0 defeat of SWQ Thunder. All the scoring inside the first 10 minutes with Apai Ukuno and Fraser Hills providing the decisive strikes.

Brisbane City were coasting at 3-0 up midway through the first half as Antonio Murray scored twice, complemented by Nick Buckley. Western Pride substitute Majok Piok would have something to say about that converting twice in two minutes to bring the score back to 3-2 but Ryan Roderick would score the winner for City, five minutes from time as the Newmarket side took the spoils 4-2.

Back to back losses for Olympic in their visits up north, this time it was the Northern Fury who prevailed 3-1 and still remain mathematical chances of a finals berth. Debutant Stephen Blackburn claimed a double with Jono Bagley the other Fury scorer, Dylan Wenzell-Halls netting a consolation penalty for the visitors.
