NPL QUEENSLAND

It looked like a new-look Sunshine Coast Fire might come away with at least a point at home but an 88th minute effort from Igor Sao Jose continued Redlands winning run with a 1-0 victory, both side ending the match with ten men.

BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Taringa seemed destined to make an immediate drop to Capital 1 after suffering a 4-1 loss to Ipswich Knights. The Knights scoring two in each half to help their own chances of avoiding relegation.

Not much to speak of in the top of the table clash between Lions and Mitchelton. Plenty of spectators there to watch English Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg (pictured below) in action but there were no goals. That result sees Lions retain a six point lead on top with three matches to play.
