Saturday scoreboard – 18 July 2015

Here’s the skinny on the scores from around the grounds.

NPL QUEENSLAND

A goal to Todd Norris in the first half and two to Harrison Sawyer in the second half kept the Western Pride’s finals hopes alive and all but extinguished the Sunshine Coast Fire’s in the process. Western Pride 3 v Sunshine Coast Fire. Link to match report

FNQ Heat also kept their chances of back-to-back finals appearances intact with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Northern Fury in Townsville. Link to match report

BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Peninsula Power took the points away from home against Logan Lightning 3-1. That result makes it an uphill battle for the Lightning to claim a finals spot.

Easts extended their finals spot advantage with a 2-0 win against Albany Creek.

Rochedale ended Mitchelton’s undefeated run at Terralba Park in a 3-1 victory.

Lions put six of the best against UQFC, winning 6-1. With Mitchelton’s loss tonight, it’s Lions Premiership to lose now.

Wolves were the only home side to claim victory, 3-1 winners at Carmichael Park against Ipswich Knights. Valuable club championship points for the hosts.
