NPL QUEENSLAND

Scoreless first half between Brisbane Strikers and Brisbane City but the Strikers made the necessary adjustments at the break coming away 3-1 winners. Goals to David Salin on 52 minutes, Scot Coulson on 81 and Jheison Macuace on 90 minutes made up the Strikers tally while Kai Smith scored for Brisbane City in the 88th minute. Adding to City’s woes, keeper Matt Stein was sent off late for successive yellow cards.

Another match with a scoreless first half, in fact it looked like that there wouldn’t be any play at all after the lights went out in the first minute between Moreton Bay and Redlands. Jets eventually wrestled control with Royce Brownlie scoring in the 57th minute and Jordan Farina in the 90th, the Jets remain top of the league and end Redlands unbeaten four-game run in a 2-0 victory.

Northern Fury took their match against Western Pride on the road to Ayr and it was a success, picking up the three points in a 2-1 win. Sean Karambasis scored for the Fury in the 12th minute before Lincoln Rule made it all square on the halftime break. Hamish Cassidy’s stoppage time goal gave the Fury the late winner.

An injury time goal to Tamas Maffey-Stumpe has seen FNQ Heat inflict Sunshine Coast with their fourth loss in a row, 3-2 in Cairns. Fire opening the scoring through Ray Schultz on 10 minutes before an immediate Heat reply by Crios O’Hare. Alex Smith gave the Heat the lead before the half-time break with Schultz bringing up his second around 10 minutes from time.

BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE

Capalaba won the early game this afternoon, Josh Sherwood’s 71st minute penalty was followed up shortly after by Yuji Hirayama’s goal gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 win against Albany Creek.

UQFC were convincing winners in their derby against Taringa. Goals to Keichi Ueda with a hat-trick, Chris Watts, Nick Efstathis and Jeremy Griffin made up a 6-0 victory.

Mitchelton prevailed at home 2-0 against Wolves while two goals in the final three minutes provided a 3-1 win to Easts over Rochedale.
