Regional Round-Up – weekend 1-3 May 2015

Rain and bye weeks had an effect on matches throughout the state but there was some action that did take place. We wrap it up all in one place for you in our Regional Round-Up.


Leichhardt maintained their unbeaten run in a 2-2 draw at home against Marlin Coast. Simon Fernandez and Osman Kamara scoring for the home side while Tom Meath and Tyler Schofield scored for the Rangers.

Despite the post-match hype from Stratford coach, Stuart Veale, Mareeba were the victors in the clash of the arch-rivals 3-1 to go four points clear on top of the table. Joe Rusch was able to open the scoring for Stratford from the penalty spot near the half hour mark but a double to Anthony Mete and a further goal to Leo Cisterni ensured the three points for the Bulls.

Daniel Viccars provided the lone goal of the match for Edge Hill in their 1-0 win against Southside Comets. The win moves the Tigers into the top four.

Innisfail had the bye.


Burdekin claimed their second win for the season in their 4-1 defeat of last year’s Premiers, Brothers who despite the loss remain in the top four.

MA Olympic claimed some revenge for their recent FFA Cup loss to Warriors in another match that saw a 4-1 scoreline.

Wulguru ensured that Ingham remain without a win in 2015, taking a 2-1 victory.

Rebels defeated Saints Eagles Souths 2-1

Ross River had the bye.


Bryce Le Petit scored for Country United but it wasn’t enough as they went down to City Brothers 2-1

Wanderers and Whitsunday fought out a 1-1 draw while Lions conceded a late goal in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Crusaders. Magpies had the bye.


Clinton weren’t terribly convincing but still managed to grab the three points with a 2-1 win against Nerimbera. Brendan Hancock and Sam Roberts scored for Clinton, the win soured by the send-off of Mitch Innocend.

Southside made it two on the run in spectacular fashion, scoring nine and keeping Emerald scoreless. Jacob Zander and Jeandre McCusker each with hat-tricks, Jack Dixon with a double and Dimitri Kondilis doing the damage.

Bluebirds are top of the table after a 1-0 win against Capricorn Coast.

Berserker versus Frenchville was deferred due to a representative fixture.


Caboolture made up for last round’s tight loss to Buderim in a 3-1 defeat of Beerwah Glasshouse.

Noosa came away with the points from Gympie in a 6-0 win. Matt Thompson with a brace accompanied by singles to Corey Lovewell, Daniel Upton, Chris Jancevski and Alex Barlow were the scorers.

Kawana remained top of the table dominating Coolum 9-0. Hat-tricks to Ryan Delahunty and Jeremy Stewart, a double to Kayden Oakes and a goal to DJ Firth made up Force’s tally.

Another high-scoring win, this time for Maroochydore in a 11-0 victory against Nambour-Yandina. Jon Harth the star with four goals on the night.

Woombye and Caloundra has been deferred to Wednesday 6 May due to the inclement conditions while Buderim had the bye.


All games were postponed due to the weather.
