The Brisbane Strikers faced an uphill battle after the dismissal of central defender, Greig Henslee midway through the first half. Danny Byrne scored for Olympic from the resulting penalty with Rhys Meredith doubling their lead on 37 minutes. Trent Clulow pulled one back for the Strikers two minutes later for a halftime score of Olympic 2 v Strikers 1.

A goal five minutes after the halftime break to Sam Cronin ended up being the sealer for Olympic in a 3-1 win, the only blemish was Matt Mundy sent off in the dying minutes of the match.
