CAPITAL LEAGUE 1
After round one was washed out, we headed into round two and what a mouth-watering clash it looked to be when Holland Park went head to head with Bayside at Whites Hill Reserve and the match lived up to that.
Holland Park raced to a 1-0 lead through Matthew McNab midway through the first half before Luke Proctor added a second but the Lota based club responded through Callum Curtis immediately. Bayside pressed during the second half and got their reward when Corey Shadwell put home with eleven remaining on the clock,the game remained that way and both sides took a share of the points.
North Pine were 2-0 winners over Brisbane Knights at Rocklea on Friday night, the goals coming through James Fairgrieve and Craig Parker in a game that saw the Knights pick up six yellow cards.
Moggill travelled north to Zillmere to take on North Star at O’Callaghan Park and were 1-0 up early before North Star pulled one back but Moggill went back in front late in the day and made a comfortable buffer of it scoring a third at the death.
Grange Thistle recorded a great win when they defeated last year’s Premier League side Brisbane Force 2-1 at Lanham Park and earned three points on the ladder.
Dittmer Park was the setting for Southside Eagles away trip to Mount Gravatt on a fine sunny Sunday afternoon which saw the Bulimba based club run out 2-0 winners, a goal coming from Roger Hunter on the stroke of halftime and they doubled their advantage when Gordon rounded the keeper and cooly tucked it away.
Pine Rivers and Annerley faced off at Wendy Allison Park in a game that couldn’t find a winner as both teams played out a fiery 2-2 draw. Samuel West had an eventful night, scoring a brace before being sent off. Damien O’Brian and Nicholas Klaassen on the scoresheet for Annerley.

CAPITAL LEAGUE TWO
Pine Hills and newly promoted Centenary Stormers went head to head at James Drysdale Reserve in a match that was a contender for game of the weekend. The Phythons raced into a 3-0 lead to the delight of the home crowd but the Darra based side had other ideas completing an amazing comeback to turn the game on its head and take all three points in a 4-3 win.
Souths top the table after a convincing 4-1 home win over strugglers Oxley.
The Gap recorded a win with a stoppage time winner down in Goodna beating Western Spirit 2-1.
Park Ridge were convincing when they saw off Newmarket 3-0,goals from the Klein brothers, Liam and Patrick and Nick Merefield.
Ipswich City were victors over newly promoted Westside on Friday night. In a tight first half both teams cancelled each other out but ten minutes after the restart the ball was played across the box where Jamie Beahan was waiting to tap home to give the Bulls the lead and as the game entered the final twenty minutes Ben Ungermann raced cleared rounded the keeper and smashed it into the net to ensure the Bulls made the long trip home with all three points.

Brisbane’s fourth tier is back underway and we picked up where we left off at the end of last season with lots of goals arm wrestles and drama.
Acacia Ridge won promotion in 2014 and weren’t phased by the step up when they put Narangba to the sword 4-2 at the Narangba Sporting Complex on Friday night.
Clairvaux got off to a cracking start defeating Ridge Hills 4-2 at the College with goals from Michael Robinson, Simon Moroney and two from Nathaniel Wright to put them joint top of the league after one round.
AC Carina picked up the NAB Cup in pre season shrugging off a number of Capital Three sides along the way and continued that form into the main event beating Tarragindi 3-2 in an epic at the Abruzzo Club on Saturday night to the delight of coach Tim Moore.
Samford Rangers opened their e account with a narrow win at highly fancied New Farm at New Farm Park on Saturday afternoon, the goal coming from Callum Tretter in what was a feisty game that saw seven yellow cards dished out.
Virginia edged out Kangaroo Point Rovers at Albert Bishop Park in a tight 2-1 tussle with goals from Paul Gourlay and Sheik Azim who ensured the three points remained at home.
